Yoga Classes

Dynaamic hatha yoga

  • A more intense Hatha Yoga class includes several Sun Salutations as well as classic standing and sitting asanas (postures). The pose is usually held for a few breaths. The final movements and final relaxation take you into a deep state of relaxation due to the heavier beginning. Although the class is heavier, the movements are done with special presence. During a yoga class, you never forcefully pull or twist, but listen to your own body. You wear loose-fitting clothes for the class and don't wear socks. It's a good idea to bring warm socks and a woolen jacket, as you will lie still for at least 5 minutes during the final relaxation.

Gentle hatha yoga

  • A gentle hatha yoga class is a body-listening, even more present and slower practice. At the beginning of the class, guided, calming breathing exercises are usually done and the movement is slow. During the class, there are no heavy sun salutations, but all movements are gentle and graceful. During the class, you can wear long sleeves, stretchy pants, and sometimes socks. During the class, we become more aware of ourselves, our breathing, and who we are and what belongs to us. Depending on the duration of the yoga class, the final relaxation can even take place on the verge of sleep (guided relaxation, yoga nidra). I recommend booking a yoga class of at least 75 minutes.
  • Pranayama (breathing exercises), concentration exercises (meditation and mindfulness) are often included in yoga classes, but you can also ask for guidance on these separately.

Drum relaxation

You can also book a drum relaxation at the end of a yoga class. Drumming grounds and calms a racing mind. While in a yoga class the mind is calmed by paying attention to the asana, what is being done at the moment, how the position feels, which direction the limbs are being rotated, which direction the toes are pointing, which bandha is being activated, where the gaze is, how the breath is going, etc., when drumming or listening to drumming the mind is focused on listening to and sensing the rhythm. Drumming helps reduce stress and promotes well-being.

Other services

Also ask about different yoga classes, e.g. for stag parties, ladies' nights, "guy groups" or work well-being days. A yoga class can also be combined with a mountain biking or kayaking trip.

How to prepare for a yoga class?

It is best to come to a yoga class on an almost empty stomach, meaning it is a good idea to have at least a couple of hours after eating. Come to a yoga class in comfortable and relaxed clothes and do the exercise without socks. At the beginning of the class, spread your own mat in a good spot and make sure what equipment (yoga blocks, belt and blanket) is available and collect them next to your own mat.

If the exercise is done on a borrowed mat, the mat is wiped at the end of the exercise. All exercises are done by listening to your own body. It is really important to be kind to yourself and that no stretch or movement hurts. Yoga practice is done at your own risk. I teach yoga with respect for traditions and in my classes you will also learn about yoga philosophy, chakras and meditation, among other things.

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.
